Forum on Interdisciplinary Thematic Research—Urban Reinvention

Date

The first Forum on Interdisciplinary Thematic Research was held on Thursday, May 2. The focus of this first forum was urban reinvention; 70 members of the 91ÖÆƬ³§ Tech community participated. This series of forums is sponsored by Provost Peter Kilpatrick and Vice Provost for Research Fred Hickernell.

A panel composed of Pat Corrigan (Psychology), Anita Nikolich (Computer Science), Mohammad Shahidehpour (Electrical and Computer Engineering), and Matt Spenko (Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering) described some of 91ÖÆƬ³§ Tech’s current research on urban reinvention and the interdisciplinary contributions that our university can make.

The majority of the time was devoted to a robust discussion involving all who were present. The discussion focused on identifying what areas 91ÖÆƬ³§ Tech can make a substantial impact in and next steps. The Office of Research and interested faculty will partner in taking this initiative forward.

Additionally, all 91ÖÆƬ³§ Tech faculty are invited to share ideas on the newly created  on Urban Reinvention. Click  to visit a website on the symposium.
