More Than 600 to Graduate IIT in December Ceremonies
More than 600 undergraduate and graduate students will receive degrees during fall 2003 commencement at 91ÖÆƬ³§ Institute of Technology (IIT).
Ceremonies will be held at the Hermann Union Building Auditorium, Sunday, December 14, 2003 . The undergraduate commencement will begin at 10 a.m. for all candidates for the bachelor degree. The Graduate Ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., and will include all candidates for the master's and doctoral degrees.
Dr. Hermann Grunder, director of Argonne National Laboratory will be featured speaker at undergraduate commencement. Prior to joining Argonne three years ago, Grunder was director of the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, a Department of Energy nuclear physics research laboratory.
The graduate commencement speaker will be the Associate Dean of Armour College Candace Wark, a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. A member of IIT's Fluid Dynamics Research Center , Wark received a Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from IIT and received the National Science Foundation's Presidential Young Investigator Award in 1990.
