Our engineering certificate programs offer you a way to take three to four graduate-level courses that are aligned with industry needs in your current field or in a complementary one, unlocking new career advancement opportunities. Certificate students may subsequently apply this coursework credit toward the pursuit of a full master鈥檚 degree.
Master鈥檚 Programs
Graduate programs in CAEE prepare you to make significant contributions to the profession, working in areas of high-impact innovation such as the built environment, construction engineering, energy and sustainability, structural engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and more.
Our central Chicago location provides students access to a diverse range of opportunities to conduct research and explore professional and cultural pursuits.
Our master of engineering (M.Eng.) and professional master's (M.A.S.) programs are primarily coursework-based, focused on developing fundamental knowledge and applications in specific disciplines in CAEE. Our master of science (M.S.) programs include both coursework and mentored research leading to the publication of a master's thesis.
Ph.D. Programs
Our doctoral degrees in civil engineering, architectural engineering, and environmental engineering are awarded in recognition of a high level of mastery in the field and upon demonstration of a distinct ability to make substantial scholarly contributions. The doctoral recipient will be capable of continuing efforts toward advancement of knowledge and achievement in research while pursuing a career in industry, academia, nonprofit, or governmental sectors.
